Update on my mom: She's only had 2 chemo treatments so far. She's already gotten off schedule because she was too sick to get her second round and it had to be delayed. So far she's experienced a UTI (that's what delayed the chemo), anemia, now her left foot is swollen, nausea, vomiting, VERY heightened sense of smell, dry & scaly skin, diarrhea and constipation (gross I know, but maybe someone reading this is interested in knowing what the side effects of chemo are for a loved one) ;) Interestingly, she still has some hair; it's not all gone yet. But we do have a wig, turban, some hats and scarves for when it's all gone. And I cut it for her so it doesn't bother her as much. She gets exhausted at the drop of a hat. Just going and sitting in the dr's office completely wears her out. She has taken as many as 4 naps in a day. Poor thing. :(
So I still won't be blogging full-time. It's just too much pressure and way too time consuming. But I did want to update on my mom and let you guys know what I've been doing in my free time (since it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to sit still!)
I've been creating! I've been frankening for a little over a year, and after a lot of research and trial and error, I felt like I was ready to finally dip my toes in the indie pond. It's been a dream of mine for a while, but I just wasn't ready until now. I really had to kick myself in the butt to do this though. It's too easy to think of a thousand excuses to not do something and stay stagnant, but whatevs; I just went for it!!
So I present Honey Bunny Lacquer: Wasting Light collection!!!
This beauty is what started it all. This is Bridge Burning. My mom and I were headed to a dr appt one day (that's all we ever get to do anymore) :( and I saw 2 or 3 different rust vehicle this particular day. I said "I need a polish that color. That's actually one color I don't own in my 400+ collection". Mind you, this was late spring, early summer...so do you think there was a single one available in stores? Nope! So I was determined to make one, in the EXACT shade I envisioned. And I hit the nail on the head. This is exactly what I wanted it to be. It's brighter than a brand new penny and full of gold shimmer! I think it's truly unique!
Rope. (There's a theme here, I promise. 10 points if you get it before I tell you at the end of the post.) ;) It's a gold holographic glitter topper with bronze microglitter added for funsies!!
Two coats of Rope swatched over two coats of Bridge Burning.
This little beauty is Miss the Misery. It's a gold flecked dusty blue. I'm not usually drawn to blues, but I really like this one!
Arlandria. It's a multi-colored glitter with a sprinkling of matte black stars and circles. There's not an abundance of stars and circles, I didn't want them to take away from the beautiful sparkly glitter!
Here's two coats of Arlandria swatched over two coats of Miss the Misery.
White Limo. This polish is packed with multi-colored glitter, and matte white stars, circles, and hexes. It's kinda like a jawbreaker in a bottle.
So there we have it: the Wasting Light collection. Do we have any Foo Fighters fans out there?? That AMAZING album was my inspiration for this collection.
I hope you guys enjoyed!! If anyone is interested in purchasing any polishes, here's the link to my Etsy shop www.etsy.com/shop/HoneyBunnyLacquer Full size polishes are $9, and minis are $4.
